Thieves cut open safe at business and steal undisclosed amount of money

The same business was broken into in December.

An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from a business on Monday, 25 September.

Police said staff members noticed there was a break-in when they arrived for work on 26 September.

It is reported that the safe was cut open.

The personnel said the business closed at 6.30pm on the previous day and everything was in order.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi said: “When they reported for duty the next day, the wall at the back of the building was broken, the CCTV camera was repositioned and the safe was cut open.

“According to the security personnel, they responded to the alarm but everything looked normal at the front of the building.”

Police said the business was also broken into in December when the criminals gained entry through a window at the back of the building.

Security measures were improved and the window was replaced with the brick wall which was damaged in the second burglary.

Nobody has been arrested yet for the latest burglary.
