Kinross residents concerned over lack of lighting in their streets

The main problem was said to be Fisant Street because there is vegetation with long grasses and also the railway line nearby.

Residents are concerned over broken street lights and raised their concerns at community meetings and by contacting the municipal call centre, to no avail.

The main problem is in Fisant Street because there is long grass and the railway is nearby.

A resident said they see unknown people carrying and dragging things near the railway daily.

Crime is also rife in the same street where a woman was stabbed in the stomach recently by an unknown man who is still on the run.

Residents further said they are doing their part by patrolling the area at night, but it is more dangerous for them without lights.

The municipality was contacted to find out why they have not repaired the lights and whether they are going to repair them.

They did not comment.
