Laerskool Ermelo closes the term with a bang

The first netball team took on the first rugby team and the male teachers matched up against the female teachers.

Laerskool Ermelo hosted a fun day last Wednesday to end the school term on a high note.

The day was rich in colour with multilayered cakes on sale and learners dressed up in their best.

Netball matches rounded off the day with the first netball team taking on the first rugby team, with the other match being a duel between the male and female teachers.

The highlight of the day had to be the teachers’ match, which saw the ladies get bragging rights after the lads had their scores deducted after unruly behaviour, where a chair was set up under the goal posts to the delight of the spectators.

The men’s antics fuelled the atmosphere, adding to what was a perfect end to the term.

The teachers’ match ended 5-6 to the ladies and the first netball team took it 6-2 from the boys’ rugby team.

Laerskool Ermelo teacher Mr Calla Scholtz readies himself for the toss up.
