Trial for the late suspended senior legal manager of the Lekwa Municipality set in Breyten

His decomposing body was found on the R50 Road between Standerton and Leandra on 18 November last year.

A date for Mr Yandisa Marongo’s murder trial has been set for 31 July to 11 August.

The trial will be at the Mpumalanga Circuit Court in Breyten.

Mr Marongo was the suspended Senior Legal Manager at the Lekwa Municipality.

He was suspended for his involvement in the fraudulent sale of the Rooikoppen Taxi Rank.

The late Mr Marongo was last seen on 10 November 2014, a day before his final hearing.

His decomposing body was found on the R50 Road between Standerton and Leandra on 18 November last year.

Some of his personal belongings including a laptop, cell phones and sound system were stolen as well as his blue Audi A4.

One suspect was arrested in June 2015 and applied for bail which was denied.

The suspect is currently under witness protection.
