Kinross woman stabbed with knife at home while wrestling with intruder

A woman suffered several injuries after she was attacked by an unknown man.

The woman was said to have been washing the dishes outside her house in the Kinross/Thistle Grove area at around 10am and when she entered the house, she was followed by a man who came out of nowhere.
The man was holding a knife and they wrestled before he stabbed her in the stomach.
The man who was wearing an orange overall was said to have dropped the knife and ran away towards the railway line.
The woman ran to the street screaming for help and someone heard her crying and came to her rescue.
An ambulance was called immediately and she was transported to hospital and is in a critical condition.
Sgt Matshelane Nhlapo from Kinross Police Station adviced residents to make sure that their gates are always locked and as well as their houses when indoors.
She also urged them to be more vigilant at all the times.
