Gert Sibande College Evander students are not happy with management

Students are protesting outside the campus.

Gert Sibande College students are protesting outside the college to voice their dissatisfaction with the management on 25 May.

This came after management allegedly failed to respond to a memorandum that the students submitted earlier this month.

The students said management is not taking them seriously.

One of the issues is that they are not happy with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme.

The gates to the college are close and violence was reported.

Mr George Manama, acting campus manager, said the college is working around the clock to try to address the issues raised by the students.

He said some of the grievances need the attention of the Department of Higher Education.

“Management is having a meeting to resolve the problems at the college.

“Students will meet with the college management tomorrow.”

The students peacefully left the college after being addressed by management.
