Illegal dumping of refuse the order of the day in eMba

Municipality says they are behind the schedule for collecting of waste.

According to the locals, it has been over a month since the municipality has collected waste.

They said the municipality changed the schedule for collecting refuse and now they do not collect it at all.

According to them this is the reason why illegal dumping has become the order of the day.

Council acknowledged it is running behind the schedule for collecting waste in some parts of the municipality.

They said the backlog is caused by the breakdown of trucks and that they are working around the clock to normalise the situation.
