A group of women made a gruesome discovery last Monday morning when they found the body of a newborn baby dumped next to the railway in Breyten.

A group of women made a gruesome discovery last Monday morning when they found the body of a newborn baby dumped next to the railway in Breyten.

Breyten Police spokesman, Sgt Mashegoane, confirmed that the body was found in a nearby veld. The motive behind the act is still unknown and no arrests have been made.

The police are now investigating an inquest and are appealing to the community to help with information to find the person responsible.
