Police seek information about baby’s body dumped at Secunda Refuse site

A security guard found a naked decomposed body of a baby during his morning patrol.

SECUNDA – Police are desperate for any information about the body of a baby that was found on the Secunda municipal dumpsite on Monday, 27 February.

Capt Bettinah Zondo, communications officer for Secunda police station explained that the body of a white baby boy, approximately 6 months old was found at the dumpsite.
“We are investigating the matter, but we need the community to help us find the parents or families of this child. We are waiting for the report on the post-mortem examination, which might lead to charges, but for now we simply want to know where this boy came from, and if his parents and family are in any danger.”

SECUNDA – The decomposing body of a child was found on the Secunda municipal dumpsite.

The body of the child, a baby approximately 6 months old, was found by a security guard walking his first morning patrol.

The security guard contacted Secunda police, who arrived on the scene shortly thereafter.

Police are still investigating the matter and the entire area is being treated as an active crime scene.

The cause of death has not been  determined, and the police are waiting for the outcome of a post-mortem examination.
