Spar donates food to Marietjie School feeding scheme

SECUNDA – The Secunda CBD Superspar and the Fivestar Superspar once again showed their support to Marietjie School.

The school has a feeding scheme and with the support of Spar in Secunda, they have been able to help some of their most needy pupils with something to eat.

Ms Santé Barnard said the support from Spar makes a difference in every child’s life, every single day.

“Spar has supported us for the past six years and thanks to Mr Christodoulou, every underprivileged student has received a loaf of bread regularly.

“This means that not only does Spar help feed them at school, but they also have something to take home for dinner.

“We also thank Mr Thano Manitsas and the whole management team of Spar in Secunda for their continued support.

“Spar’s motto is ‘Good for You’, and I can honestly say that Spar has shown time and again that they are also good to us.”

Regardless of the regular support throughout the school year, Spar also handed over a large donation of food, products and other supplies that were donated by the public, as part of Spar’s charity drive.

There is a large crate near the exit of the Secunda CBD Superspar and shoppers are encouraged to drop their donations in this crate.

Spar supports Marietjie School, the SPCA and a number of other worthy causes in Secunda and these donations are handed out where they are needed most.

Messrs Christodoulou and Manitsas, the owners of Secunda CBD Superspar and Fivestar Superspar, as well as their management team thanked their customers for their continued support.
