Backlog in refuse removal, only one of six vehicles working

The Lekwa Municipality has confirmed that five of their refuse collection vehicles are not working due to mechanical breakdown and have not been replaced yet.

The municipality has six refuse collection vehicles, but only one is currently working.

As a result, there are disruptions in refuse removal from 6 February.

These are the affected areas:

Monday

• Cement (half) and Sivukile

Tuesday

• Jabavu, Moroka, Hlongwane Drive and Mcashi

• Meyerville and Morgenzon

Wednesday

• Mcashi, Draaihoek, Ext 3, BJ and Los

• Sivukile Ext 2, Standerton Ext 1 and Kosmos Park

Thursday

• Mahala Park,Stanwest/Azalea, Mcashi, Los, Phalama and Sivukile Ext 3

Friday

• Mahala Park, Sakhile Ext 1, 2 ,7 and Azalea

• Crossroads and Phalama

Saturday

• Sakhile, Ext 6 and Rooikoppen

Sunday

• Sakhile, Ext 6 and Rooikoppen

Thursday
