Residents up in arms over Bethal Hospital project

The residents have been picketing outside the hospital since 9 January

BETHAL – Locals are up in arms over employment and tenders at the Bethal Hospital Project.
The residents have been picketing outside the hospital since 9 January.
Mr Thando Zwane,  chairman of the Bethal Business Forum,  said they have written several petitions to the hospital and Govan Mbeki Municipality but they haven’t received a response.
Today the residents were expecting to be addressed, however no one pitched up.
The residents then forcefully entered the hospital and stopped the project.
Residents are saying they have also received death threats.
Mr King Mahlangu, steering committee member, is trying to address the residents under strong police guard.
