Buhlebethu kids receive Christmas gifts

The company also donated grocery for the centre.

KINROSS – Orphaned and underprivileged children from Buhlebethu Centre received Christmas gifts from Eskom’s Kriel branch.

Mr Liyanda Mjigwana, Eskom Kriel Group Capital Site Manager, said they were touched by the work that the centre is doing for the community during their first visit.

He also thanked his team for identifying the centre and said they will continue to work with the centre.

The orphans each received Christmas packs with sweets inside and a pair of school shoes.

The other children from poor backgrounds and the elderly people received sweets.

The company also donated groceries to the centre.

Eskom Kriel Project Manager, Ms Lulama Mxakaza, said it is painful when to be an orphan because even when they face difficulties, they do not know who will help them.

“Orphans are difficult to manage, because even when you do good, they are not noticed because of their longing for parental love,” added Ms Mxakaza who directed the message at the orphans’ guardians.

Mr Lucky Thusi from Buhlebethu said they realised help does not only come from the people you know.

He thanked his staff for waking up daily to cook for the children, especially the elderly people.
