Kasselman Security Services apprehended three men in the Monument Centre and near Capitec Bank on 26 October.
The suspects allegedly tried to scam a man that was using the ATM in the centre by telling him that one of them will help him with a withdrawal.
One of the suspects tried to swap the bankcard with a fraudulent card, while the other two went to wait in a car nearby.
The man using the ATM machine saw what the suspect was doing and grabbed the scammer.
Monument Centre security and Kasselman reacted immediately after the alarm and followed the other two suspects that were speeding away in a VW Polo after they saw that their associate was getting arrested.
Kasselman arrested them near Capitec Bank.
For reasons unknown to both security companies, the complainant did not open a case against the scammers and they were released.
