Sassa reaches out to the community

Food packages were handed out at the Jerrie van Vuuren Building this morning to support families that recently fell on hardship or have suffered from catastrophic events.

Mr Senzeni Ngubeni, spokesman for Sassa Standerton, explained that there are different categories under which a person can apply for assistance.

The Social Relief of Distress grant can be claimed for three months if the social worker who is appointed to your case visited your home and found your application valid.

Assessments will be done before any grant is approved.
