Ward 8 residents take to the streets

Angry ward 8 residents and business owners took to the streets yesterday demanding that Lekwa Municipality stops the installation of smart meters.

They handed over a memorandum with a list of their demands and gave the municipality seven working days to respond.

These residents are also calling for the removal of Mr Linda Tshabalala, Lekwa municipal manager, saying he is incompetent.

According to them, Mr Tshabalala wants to pursue his own interests at the expense of the community and businesses.
