Two admitted to hospital after crash

Both drivers sustained injuries during the crash

Local firefighters attended to a car accident on the road between Standerton and Secunda on 18 September that left two people injured.

According to the firefighters, the incident occurred at the New Denmark Colliery (NDC) T-junction.

They said a Land Cruiser collided with a Toyota Corolla travelling towards Standerton.

Firefighters alleged that the driver of the Land Cruiser, travelling from NDC, skipped a stop sign.

Both drivers sustained injuries and were admitted to the Standerton Hospital.

According to Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, the area where the accident occurred falls out of their jurisdiction.

He said the Charl Cilliers Police are responsible for that area.

The Standerton Advertiser tried to contact the Charl Cilliers Police to get more information and the names of the injured, but could not get through on their landline.
