Trichardt Police urge community to be safe

We are appealing to the community not to leave the windows open and doors unlocked at night or whenever they leave home

TRICHARDT – Capt Noyise Ngqangash, station commissioner of the local police station, urged the community to practice safety at all times.

He said: “We are currently experiencing a high number of housebreakings and theft in our area.

“Most of these incidents are happening at secure complexes where it is difficult for the police to enter and conduct patrols.

“In these cases you find that entrance was gained through an open window or an unlocked door as the victims assumed the place is secured and no one can have access to their homes.

“We are appealing to the community not to leave windows open and doors unlocked at night or whenever they leave home.”

Capt Ngqangash also urged residents to communicate with their neighbours and to notify them when they are going to leave their homes so that the neighbours can report irregular movements at their neighbours’ houses.
