Eskom warns about scam

Eskom would never send notifications to its customers in this manner

Eskom warns the public not to fall victim to a bank scam involving the company.

Fraudsters pretending to be from Eskom are sending letters, faxes and e-mails bearing the company’s logo and a forged signature of Eskom’s Group Chief Executive, Mr Brian Molefe, claiming that Eskom has changed its banking account to Nedbank.

Eskom customers are advised to take note that the company does not have a banking account with Nedbank and that

Eskom would never send notifications to its customers in this manner.

If in doubt, the public is requested to contact the Eskom Customer Call Centre on 08600 37566 for verification.
