Kesegie launches her Tri-Love
Ms Moodley started writing short stories when she was still in high school and would give them to her mother to read.
KINROSS – Ms Kesegie Moodley will be launching her fourth book on Saturday, 2 July at Kinross Sasol Club.
She said this book is different from her other books.
“Tri-Love will inspire readers to again believe in love and the characters are easy to relate to,” said Ms Moodley whose story is based in Secunda.
When asked what inspired her to write about love, she said “I believe that intimate love is one of the emotions that people do not believe in anymore these days.
“The divorce rate is very high, but I believe that true love still exists.”
Ms Moodley was born in Durban, but was raised in Secunda where she also works.
She began writing short stories when she was still in high school and gave them to her mother to read.
Though she enjoyed writing, her dream was to become a doctor.
“When I was in Grade 10, I was sure that I would become a doctor and even convinced my parents to talk to one of the doctors in Kinross to allow me to get exposure over weekends.
“I assisted in his surgery, but later realized that it was not what I wanted and I then wanted to become a nurse,” said Ms Moodley who still continued to help at the surgery until she finished high school.
She has a diploma in creative writing and aims at registering for an advanced course in business management.
Ms Moodley said her real struggle began when she could not find an affordable publisher and learned a lot about publishing, including the laws of publishing, in the process.
She decided to publish the book herself and later opened Luke Publishing with her business partner, Vogan Jenniker.
Her future plans are to help other writers who want to publish their stories.
“I thank my family for being there for me.
“They are my parents, Ms Vani and Col Anand Naidoo, my daughter, Keshree Tori Moodley, my partner, Mr Vogan Jenniker, and my siblings” said Ms Moodley.
