Sakhile residents in different wards were recently left in the dark after power cuts.
The wards affected were Ward 1, 2 and 11.
According to them, the power cuts have been occurring frequently.
They have also not been informed what is causing these interruptions.
The power usually goes off between 6pm and 10pm in some of these areas.
According to them, the power cuts occur during the week and not on weekends and consequently they struggle to prepare supper or even help their children with homework.
According to Ms Angel Khanyile, DA councillor, they are investigating these issues that were recently discovered.
“Overloading on electricity is causing the power cuts,” Ms Thobeka Mtshiselwa, communications manager said.
She also said this issue is going to last as long as people continue doing so.
