SECUNDA – Govan Mbeki Municipality’s executive mayor, Ms Lindi Masina, members of the Mayoral Committee and senior officials shared knowledge and information with a delegation from Bungoma County delegates in Secunda on 8 June.
The delegation visited the municipality as part of a study tour itinerary to South Africa from 6 to 10 June.
Bungoma County is located in western Kenya and runs along the Kenya and Uganda border with a population of more than 1.3 million.
The delegation’s visit was focusing on the following:
• The reviewing and redrafting of the new Integrated Development Planning (IDP) in 2012;
• The alignment and review of the organisational structure;
• The alignment of the IDP, budgeting and performance management;
• The culture change towards urgency and implementation.
It was the second county from Kenya that was hosted by the municipality.
A delegation from the Kisumu County visited the municipality last year.
