Man dies after car overturns

Lt Nhlabathi confirmed that there were seven people in the vehicle, including the driver.

Tsietsi Sithole died in a car accident after a vehicle he was travelling in overturned on the Secunda Road on 12 June.

Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer for the Standerton Police, said the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“One person died on the scene and the other passengers sustained injuries.”

Lt Nhlabathi confirmed that there were seven people in the vehicle, including the driver.

According to him, the vehicle that was transporting people to eMbalenhle was from Sakhile.

“These people who are originally from eMbalenhle were attending a choir competition that was held at the Thusong Centre.”

He said the other six people sustained minor injures.

“They were all admitted to the Standerton Hospital after the accident occurred.”

A case of culpable homicide was opened at the Standerton Police.

The police confirmed that no one has been arrested.
