DA members submit memorandum

The DA wants the municipality to provide housing for the people who have been living in informal settlements for about 15 years

Unhappy members of the DA braved the cold and marched to the offices of the Lekwa Municipality on 14 June to submit a memorandum with a list of their demands.

This comes after Mr James Masango, DA provincial leader, visited Rooikoppen on 9 June.

According to the party, they are unhappy about the poor service delivery in Lekwa.

They claimed that there are people who have been living in informal settlements for more than 15 years, who are not prioritised for RDP houses.

They also said some people do not have adequate access to water and sanitation as well as access to electricity.
