Sasol warns suppliers against fraudsters

Fraudsters pose as Sasol employees.

SECUNDA – Sasol said in a statement it has once again become aware of the emergence of fraudulent activities of people posing as employees in an effort to defraud unsuspecting Sasol suppliers.

The objective of these fraudsters is to entice a deposit from the supplier(s) without the actual supply of materials/goods.

In order to prevent such attempts from re-occurring, Sasol urged people to take note of the following when receiving any RFQ’s from Sasol:

– Confirm that you have received a legitimate RFQ – with a specific numbering format – with your known Sasol representative.

– Confirm the RFQ number with the actual Sasol representative before you act on it.

– Confirm that you have received the RFQ from a valid Sasol e-mail address.

If you have the slightest suspicion that the RFQ might be unsolicited, report the incident immediately to Sasol’s ethics line contact centre at 0800 016 017.
