Accidents on the R23 and R39 roads
“Motorists ignore the road signs even when a road is under construction,”
An alarming number of people have lost their lives on the R23 Road due to car accidents that often occur.
The R39 Road has claimed a number of lives as well.
Both of these roads are currently under construction and some might say that is a contributing factor to the accidents.
Stop-and-go points at both the R23 and R39 control the traffic.
Motorists can spend up to 20 minutes waiting at the stop-and-go points and not every motorist takes kindly to that.
According to Mr Jabulani Mkhwanazi of the Department of Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management, most accidents can be avoided if everybody sticks to the rules.
