Use water sparingly

Msukaligwa Local Municipality has urged communities to use water sparingly as a result of low water levels at Brummer and Douglas dam.

The municipality has also implemented the following restrictions. Watering of garden by sprinklers and hosepipe, washing of cars with hosepipe and cleaning of driveways with hosepipe.

According to the municipal spokesman, despite numerous calls for water conservation, the rate of water use in Wesselton/Ermelo has not gone down. The municipality is seeing higher than normal numbers of account with water over-use levies.

The municipality urges everyone to cut back on water usage.
