Davel Police received information on Monday morning that a blood-spattered plastic bag had been found in a nearby field.
Upon arriving on the scene, Consts S.I. Luthuli and S.W Hlatshwayo discovered the body of a new-born male baby wrapped in a red and black track suit top which was in turn placed in distinctive yellow plastic shopping bags and a black garbage bag.
A case of concealment of birth has been opened.
