Three chiefs inaugurated in eMba at the same time

Queen Nomsa Mdaka urged the wives of the newly appointed chiefs to work closely and in harmony with their husbands.

eMBALENHLE – The Ndzudza Mabhoko Traditional Council under leadership of Ingweyama Ndzudza Mabhoko III, inaugurated three local chiefs on Saturday, 10 October at the eMbalenhle Stadium.

Chief Piet Mahlangu, Chief Isaack Mahlangu and Chief Musa Mahlangu were inaugurated in the presence of thousands of Ndebele people, chiefs from other tribes, such as the Swazi, Zulu and Basotho tribes, councillors and pastors who attended the event.

They succeeded their fathers who had died.

Mr Ndabezitha Sililo Mahlangu from the royal house, said the newly appointed chiefs must lead the community in the right direction.

He said they should ensure the Ndebele culture and traditions are preserved in the area.

“You must promote peace, unity and respect in the community and make sure you lead with dignity, respect and a humble spirit.”

He also encouraged the youth to pride themselves in their culture.

“Embrace your heritage and do not allow anyone to despise you for who you are.

“Wear your traditional attire more often and let the beauty of the colours attract people.”

Queen Nomsa Mdaka urged the wives of the newly appointed chiefs to work closely and in harmony with their husbands.

“You are now the mothers of the nation, lead by examples.

“Mother the motherless and take care of the poor.

“Educate your children about our customs and above all, always draw your strength from the almighty God.”

Chief Isaack Mahlangu thanked the royal house for honouring them.

“We vow to serve our nation and to represent our leader, Ingweyama Ndzudza Mabhoko III, well in the community.

“We will work with the government to make sure our people are properly served and will build and promote our culture.

“I urge all parents to ensure that their children learn Ndebele at school so that our culture is preserved.”
