Help keep girls in school

Become involved in special project.

TRICHARDT – Our Place Sports Bar and community members launched the Keep a Girl in School, Panty Project.

It is a fact that most girls miss up to two full years of school during their five-day cycle month.

Some teachers also allegedly confiscate girls’ sanitary towels in order to re-sell them to the community.

The community wants to help girls by supplying a bag with sanitary goods to try and change their circumstances.

Members of the community have realised that especially those in rural areas are suffering.

Girls find themselves in embarrassing situations as soon as their monthly cycle begins.

One of the girls at a local school said: “I sometimes hate the fact that I am a woman and have to go through the pain and suffering.”

The goal of the project is to supply 300 girls with a bag of sanitary goods on 22 August.
