Mr Linda Dhlamini possibly the new mayor
According to a reliable source Mr Linda Dhlamini is the new mayor of Lekwa.
According to a reliable source some musical chairs were played resulting in the appointment of the speaker, Mr Linda Dhlamini, as mayor of the Lekwa Municipality.
The previous mayor, Ms Caroline Morajane, will act as chief whip in future.
Although the atmosphere was not conducive to forthright confirmation on the Standerton Advertiser’s visit, the municipal spokesman, Mr Sipho Mkwanazi, said nothing is in writing yet.
According to Mr Rosier de Ville, chief whip of the DA, four municipalities in Mpumalanga, including Lekwa, are part of the redeployment.
The council will convene on 30 July.
