A truck lost some of its load of grass bales on 15 April.

The vehicle was travelling in Nelson Mandela Drive in Meyerville when the incident occurred.

According to the clean-up crew the load was secured tightly and the wind blew some of the bales off the vehicle onto the road.

Fortunately no damage was done to the truck or any other vehicles travelling in the road at the time.

Traffic officials were quick to respond and directed traffic as the clean-up operation was in progress.

Bales that could be rescued were loaded back onto the truck, while grass that was still on the road, was swept up and also loaded.

The incident did not cause too much commotion and traffic could still flow reasonably freely.

Everything was back to normal after about an hour.
