Load shedding schedules for Govan Mbeki Municipality are scarce

Newspaper cannot vouch for accuracy of schedules.

No correct Eskom load shedding schedules are available for the Govan Mbeki Municipality, neither from the municipality’s website or from Eskom.

The municipality buys electricity from Eskom and residents from Bethal, eMzinoni, Trichardt, Secunda, Evander, Kinross and eMbalenhle buy electricity from the municipality.

The only residents of this municipality that buy electricity directly from Eskom, are those living in Leandra and Lebohang.

Although the municipality must provide Eskom, and the public, with a load shedding schedule, it is the responsibility of the municipality (not Eskom) to cut the power according to the schedules for the various stages of load shedding.

The Ridge Times have tried numerous times to obtain these schedules from the municipality, must is referred to Eskom for the schedules time and again.

Eskom of course refers us to the municipality.

The Ridge Times got the following schedules from literally “everywhere” and cannot vouch for their accuracy.
