Coruption robs students

Coruption robs academic deserving students.

Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training Mduduzi Manan says corruption is robbing academic deserving students an opportunity for free education as monies meant to assist the education system ends up lining other people’s pockets.

“For free education to be a reality, the department would require R50 billion a year to provide free education to tertiary institutions, but such monies end up lining other people’s pockets,” said Mr Manana during the 1st Mpumalanga Provincial TVETCEO Conference held at Ermelo Inn during the three days conference.

According to Manana, the R9.9bn budgeted for this year is not enough and the department is failing to get deserving students into the education and training.
