eMzinoni marchers lay charges against local ANC members

Sanco members say the law must take its own course.

eMZINONI – Members of Sanco have opened assault cases at the eMzinoni Police Station against ANC members  on Tuesday 7 April.

It is alleged that some of the Sanco members were beaten on Monday night while they were mobilising a march against bad service delivery by the municipality.

Apparently the suspects were beating and shooting at those who were protesting and burning tyres.

The victims claim that the men were using a red kombi belonging to one of the well-known ANC members and  municipal worker.

“The people who wanted to kill us, are the leaders who must protect us.

“They also use former convicts to do their dirty job.”

Some of the Sanco members alleged that the perpetrators were aiming at killing the March organiser, Mr King Mahlangu.

They also alleged that top officials and politicians were responsible for this.

They said they hope the law will take its cause.

Const Cynthia Mthsweni, police spokesman, confirmed that two assault cases were opened and that the investigation officer is doing his job.
