eMba residents expect bloody festive season

Mob justice is not the answer.

eMBALENHLE – The local police are searching for murder suspects in three separate murders in the past two weeks.

■ The first one happened in Extension 4 during which a 20-year-old man was apparently beaten to death by community members because he had  allegedly committed a crime.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said the police were patrolling the area when they saw a crowd of people chasing someone.

“We went closer to see what was happening and found a man lying on the ground.

“He suffered severe injuries and we called for an ambulance.

“Paramedics declared him dead on the scene.”

■ In Extension 26 a man was stabbed to death.

The victim was visiting with friends, they had an argument and he was stabbed.

Capt Nkosi said the deceased sustained six stab wounds.

■ Mob justice again prevailed when another 20-year-old man was killed.

Capt Nkosi said the police are investigating and nobody has been arrested yet.

“We condemn mob justice and residents must refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

“We advise people to rather take suspects to the police station.”
