Woman assaulted, case closed

Ms Jeanette Leshala is one of three women who were allegedly assaulted during a Sanco protest on 8 August.

The case was recently closed after the police failed to make any arrests.

“I received a call from Sgt Shadrack Ngema of the Sakhile Detectives informing me that they are closing the case because nobody has been arrested,” she said.

According to Mr Nicholas Selepe, Sanco Lekwa zonal convener, they will arrange a meeting with the prosecutor.

“MKVA members know who did this, but are not saying anything and we will engage the police about the matter,” he said.
