Cut back on consumption to avoid national blackout

It is expected that load shedding will continue in parts of the country until at least 10pm today.

Eskom said it will be in a better position tomorrow, Sunday 30 November to determine whether they will have to have more load shedding next week.

The utility will apparently try to build up enough reserves during Phase 2 load shedding over the weekend to minimise disruptions next week.

Eskom said the power grid is constrained due to unforeseen technical problems at its power stations and they need to build up reserves at their pump storage scheme to enable them to pump water back into their top dam and build up reserves for diesel fuel so that they are able to meet the demand for electricity next week.

It is expected that load shedding will continue in parts of the country until at least 10pm today.
