Hawkers become a nuisance

Shop owners in Secunda CBD are fed up.

SECUNDA – Shop and business owners in the CBD are fed up with illegal hawkers taking over the sidewalks.

“Our clients complain and say they have nowhere to walk, because the hawkers are taking over,” said one of the shop owners.

The newspaper has reported about this issue in the past and the municipality then said legal flea market traders will be allowed in the CBD.

The police have also chased these hawkers away in the past, but they return the next day or even a few hours later.
