LEANDRA – The first thing tourists will see when they drive pass Leandra are rivers of sewage.
It is not only in the open fields next to Leandra and Lebohang, but between the houses and in the streets as well.
Residents are fed up and do not know what to do anymore and the pump station in Leandra is also not working.
The sewage problem was so bad in August, it flowed into residents’ homes and the head of marketing and communications of Govan Mbeki Municipality, Mr Henry Masango, then said they have taken notice of the problem and were working on finding a permanent solution.
However now he said: “We are aware of the problem and we are attending to it.
“The infrastructure in Leandra is old.”
In the meantime residents have to live with the stench of sewage daily.
