Pupils receive shoes from VUT Students

Shapeve Primary School pupils received 130 pairs of school shoes from Vaal University of Technology.

eMBALENHLE – The Student Representative Council (SRC) of Vaal University of Technology and the Student Affairs Office donated school shoes to needy pupils from Shapeve Primary School on Friday, 31 October.

It was aimed at reaching out to the community and 130 pupils from Grade 1 to 7 benefited from these donations.

Ms Nwabisa Vermeulen, student affairs officer, said this was an important initiative for the university and it also taught the students the importance of generosity and giving to the needy.

“It is an applaudable gesture to see young leaders like the SRC taking a step forward and getting involved in their community, making a positive impact on other people’s lives and to be able to put a smile on those children’s faces was priceless.”
