Fishing expo big success

Pierre Jacobs and Ridwaan Docrat of Sensation did demonstrations on bass angling and the types of lures you should use in different situations.

Khans Fishing and Cycling hosted a fishing expo on 25 October that drew plenty of attention from fishing enthusiasts.

The street outside the shop was a hive of activity with a tent set up in the hot sun and the smell of braai meat in the air.

Schalk van Breda and Loukie van der Merwe of Super Cast could not attend due to car problems.

Pierre Jacobs and Ridwaan Docrat of Sensation did demonstrations on bass angling and the types of lures you should use in different situations.

The public was welcome to ask questions at any stage and in turn was rewarded with free 4kg bags of ground feed.

Altogether 13 lucky draws were also held during the course of the day.

“It was a success with almost 300 customers according to our books,” Mr Zahid Khan of Khans Fishing and Cycling said.

“It is unfortunate that the guys from Super Cast could not make it, but the guys from Sensation really had a wealth of information about the world of fishing.

“We will definitely be doing this in the future, every six months or so, but at least once a year, because it takes two or three months to prepare for such a function.

“Not everyone has the same taste in fishing equipment, so we will try and get different companies involved in the future,” Mr Khan also said.
