eMBALENHLE – Mr Qiniso Kunene (27) is jobless although he has a degree in cartooning.
He obtained his degree at the University of Swaziland in 2007 and since then has not been able to get employed.
He said he has been searching for a job, but has been unsuccessful which led to depression and anxiety.
“This is hurting and destroying me.
“I have sent applications to various places in South Africa and Swaziland and at some point it seemed like I was losing my mind.
“I am tired of being jobless.”
Mr Kunene began drawing in primary school and was encouraged by his friends’ family to pursue a career in drawing.
“Growing up I enjoyed watching cartoons and after each show, I would draw what I had watched.
“I am doing various cartoons, especially political.
“I have waited too long for a job, but I will not give up.”
He is not only a qualified cartoonist, but also an actor and is currently acting at the local theatre group Izigi.
He said performing on stage keeps him going.
