Msukaligwa Municipality informs residents of a planned water shutdown from 29 September to 9 October.

Davel and KwaDela will be affected as well as certain areas in Ermelo.

Restrictions of the water supply will be imposed for Davel and KwaDela and rationing of water will be applied. Water will be available here in the mornings from 06:00 to 08:30 and in the evening from 18:00-19:30pm

The affected areas in Ermelo are De Bruin Park, Nederland Park, Ext 32, 33, 34, New Ermelo, John Vorster Park, Cassim Park, Ermelo Industrial Area, Autumn Ridge (Nomndeni) and Ext 14.

During the water shutdown, the municipality will put in place a contingency plan with water tankers on standby and deployed in strategic areas of the affected wards.

Communities are urged not to pay for the water provided by water tankers, as this is a free service. If anyone is made to pay for the water, they must report it to the councillors and the municipal call centre.

Residents, businesses and schools are urged to work with the municipality during this period, to use water sparingly and report broken pipes, open hydrants errant sprinklers and abandoned free-flowing wells to the call centre on 086 116 7852 or 017 801 3500.
