Pupil who fell, undergoes 4½ hour surgery

The operation was done at the Standerton Hospital after a consent form was signed by her grandmother.

Local Samaritans came to the aid of Nobuhle Masina (9), the pupil from Funduqhubeke Primary School, who stumbled and broke her femur.

Nobuhle, who was attending a cross-country meeting at Hoërskool Standerton on 26 August when the incident occurred, was operated on, free of charge, by a private doctor on 12 September.
