SANCO fights against illegal substances in Sakhile

Most of the crimes committed in the community are because of drugs.

The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) urged organisations and the community at large to unite and fight the scourge of illegal substances in Sakhile.

“Drugs are a serious problem in our community and we can not deal with this problem individually, we need to work together,” Mr Dumisani Nkonde, organiser, said.

He also said most of the crimes committed in the community were drug-related.

He requested shop owners not to sell cigarettes, as well as glue and benzene, to minors.

“Bottle store and tavern owners must not sell alcohol to children, even when they claim to be sent by an adult.”

Mr Nkonde advised parents to supervise their children and to report anything unusual to the relevant departments.
