SAKHILE – A man walking home from a local tavern was assaulted and robbed on 13 April. The complainant said one of the men grabbed him from behind, while the others attacked him.

One of the suspects, according to his recollection, had a knife. They beat him until he fell and stole his cell phone, R500 and his bank card.

Thereafter they stripped him of his clothes and fled the scene.

e went home and reported the incident to the police the next day. Police are investigating a case of common robbery.

Mr Eugene Komaan, Sakhile Police’s community liaison officer, said: “Residents are warned not to walk alone during the early hours of the morning.

“Most suspects are armed and succeed in robbing people at these times.”
