Man arrested for attempted murder and robbery.

A man (31) was arrested on charges of robbery and attempted murder in Sakhile on 22 March and was expected to appear in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 8 April.

The victim was on his way home from a local tavern, when someone struck him on the head from behind.

He stood up and tried to fight them off, but they overpowered him.

One of them, which he recognised, stabbed him in his back and stomach.

He fell and the thieves took his cell phone and wallet and fled the scene.

He stood up and walked home where he collapsed.

The victim was rushed to the Standerton Hospital.

A case of attempted murder and robbery was opened at Sakhile Police Station after he identified one of the assailants.
