Two men were arrested on 22 March and appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 4 April.
One suspect was arrested for defeating the ends of justice and the other for common assault.
The police followed up on a complaint and located two men.
The complainant identified the assailant.
The police asked the suspect to accompany them, while the other man, who is the owner of the house, ordered them to leave his premises.
The police proceeded to the vehicle with the suspect and the home owner followed them and apparently told them they were useless.
They ignored him until he slapped one of the officers.
The police tried to subdue him, but he was not cooperating and they called for backup.
Const Jabulani Sithole of Sakhile Detectives is investigating both cases.
