Man arrested on several charges

Upon arrival, the brother came outside carrying a sjambok and tried to hit him.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Sakhile on 16 March for housebreaking and theft and also for malicious damage to property.

The complainant received a call informing him that his younger brother was fighting with his father.

He rushed to his father’s house to see what was going on.

Upon arrival, the brother came outside carrying a sjambok and tried to hit him, but missed.

The victim ran inside the house and locked the doors.

The suspect threw stones and broke windows of the house and told him that if he stays in his father’s house, he is going to find his house broken into.

The following day, the complainant went home and found that his house was indeed broken into.

The stolen property was valued at R935.

He went to confront his brother, but he tried to attack him with the sjambok again.

He went to the police station and opened a case.

Const Phakiso Tsotetsi, of Sakhile Detectives, is investigating the case.

The suspect appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 19 March.
